Our Resort FAQ
Cutting Edge Technology
Guests can work online with Gigabit high-speed internet throughout the park. Cabin guests can enjoy their favorite shows on a 4K TV with fiber optic connections. Fast-charging EV charging stations are at each RV site and cabin area. Then step outside to walk nature trails and see wildlife in their natural habitat, or view our exotic herd in their pasture.
Architectural Style
The architecture and building materials are representative of the area, both past and present. For example, each bathhouse (aka Soak Haus) is built in the 19th century Texan ‘possum run' style with exterior wood of hemlock, but the well-appointed interiors are modern with tile imported from Europe and Central America. The Resort Office and Club Haus are designed in the modern style with a dramatic roof line with the exterior made of large stone blocks that are locally quarried ‘honey limestone’ typical of the Hill Country. The dramatic roof line of the Club Haus building is reflected again on our pond-side outdoor Pavilion.
Hunting Ranch Origins
Our new resort was originally a deer and exotic hunting ranch and the genetic origins of many of the various breeds of deer and antelope which guests will find on the property today harken back to those earlier days.
Nature Retreat
The 250-acre preserve was meticulously repurposed into a calming place for those weary of the city: a nature retreat with an extensive vineyard, wooded groves and open fields. Developers took great care and attention to preserve the natural oak trees, some ranging in age to 300+ years. A team of arborists and surveyors, using the latest technology, guided the preservation of as many of the oak trees and other flora as possible.
Birding
A great place for birdwatching. We complete periodic bird counts by a wildlife management company. The property is home to about 40 species of birds and they along with all the wildlife are managed by the SKYE staff and a team of consulting biologists.
Protective Fencing
The property is surrounded by 2.95 miles of 8’ high game fencing intended to keep our wildlife inside those boundaries and other unwanted species out. Further, this affords guests who bring their dogs the comfort of knowing they are safe and unable to run onto public highways.
The SKYE Group
The SKYE group of companies has a long and storied history of developing high-end resort properties worldwide. With a focus on the US, Japan, and the UK, we have always concentrated on prestige properties. We insist that a keen eye is kept on minimizing the project’s environmental footprint yet require that the resulting product be both attractive as well as a practical place in which to live and/or play, depending on the development
