Light the Night Christmas Parade – December 5

Fredericksburg’s Light the Night Christmas Parade is the highlight of the season and one of our favorite local traditions. Main Street comes alive with the glow of hundreds of lights as floats, marching bands, and community groups make their way from Washington Street to Edison Street. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m., and it’s truly a sight to see—families bundle up in blankets and sip cocoa while the whole town gathers in celebration.

One of our guests recently shared, “This is an amazing, unique event. Very family-friendly and a hometown feel. We had a blast!” That kind of feedback perfectly captures what makes this event so special—there’s a true sense of community that shines through every twinkling light.

After the parade, be sure to stop by the Peppermint Platz area of the Adelsverein Halle, where Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos starting at 8 p.m. There’s also a children’s activity area to keep the little ones entertained.
